Primitivo is no longer the Primitivo of old. On the contrary, it is a much more accomodating and charming fellow with a hard exterior and soft heart. The acidity and tannins are not at all prudish, they are however, through the deep fruitiness and richness, wonderfully complete. Primitivo has evolved to the status of trend variety but without having to deny its heritage.
